A new agency
A new decentralised EU agency, the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA), was established on 26 June 2024 and will become fully operational on 1 January 2028. Find the full list of decentralised organisations in Section 9.5.3.
Currencies
In 2024, Zimbabwe introduced Zimbabwe Gold, replacing the Zimbabwe dollar. All updates are reflected in Annex A5 and Annex A7.
Use the right ELI format
Since 1 October 2023, all acts in the Official Journal have a European Legislation Identifier (ELI).
To avoid mistakes:
- Stick to the standard format
- Do not add a language code: it is not part of the ELI!
Section 3.1 now provides key clarifications – stay informed!
Commission DG updates
We’ve updated Section 9.6 to reflect the latest changes in Commission directorates-general and services.
Key updates include:
- Renamed DGs
- A brand-new directorate-general
- A new task force

Highlighting updates with the green marking!
To make it easier for users to spot changes, our Style Guide ruses green marking to highlight updated parts of a text. When checking the News page for updates such as ‘Préambule, LegisWrite, and EdiT: update’, users can quickly see what’s new at a glance. This simple visual cue ensures clarity and efficiency in tracking modifications.
